Are the Arabs threatening war?

Get a load of this statement coming out of the Arab summit in Damascus:
Arab leaders attending the Arab Summit in Damascus this weekend made it clear that they see the “return” of millions of foreign Arabs to Israel as a critical part of any peace deal. Arabs claiming descent from those who fled Israel during the War of Independence would be granted Israeli citizenship under the 2002 Saudi Peace Plan, which also calls on Israel to immediately withdraw from all territories occupied by Jordan and Egypt until 1967, including much of Jerusalem.

Arab leaders confirmed their support for the Saudi plan on Saturday, but Syrian President Bashar Assad said that if Israel did not accept the plan in the near future, Arab governments could be forced to take alternative measures. Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa suggested that Arab nations “may have to take painful positions” if talks with Israel did not show progress in the near future.

Libyan President Moammar Ghaddafi criticized the Saudi initiative as not requiring enough of Israel. “Palestine is not only the West Bank and the Gaza Strip,” he said. Ghaddafi called for a single state between the Mediterranean and the Jordan River in which Arabs would be a majority.
They'd like to be threatening war. But given how many Arab countries did not show up to the summit, I'm not sure they can right now. Unless they have other allies (like the Russians) to help them.

In other words, to obtain "peace" with the Arabs, Israel would have to voluntarily commit national suicide first. That quite a "deal" the Arabs are offering Israel.

They have improved on the old Khartoum formula in the sense they will recognize Israel after she has ceased to be a Jewish State. What's clear is the "peace process" has not in the slightest altered Arab hostility to Israel's presence in the Middle East.

indian jaadugar,

I deny this. Unlike the Europeans in America, this land is the Jewish historic homeland and Jews have continuous presence in it, no matter how small, for thousands of years in spite of being expelled from it, mass murdered on it or not allowed to return and settle in it in different times under different occupations, including various rulers under Islamic occupation. Unlike the Europeans, the Jews didn't have any other country and were not an empire conquering lands around the world. Unlike the Europeans, there is plenty of archaeological evidence affirming the Jewish history of this land. Unlike the Native Americans, the Arabs were imperialists (who during the days of Muhammad mass murdered Jews and expelled them from several of their cities in the Middle East) and the Muslims were imperialists, a world power that conquered the Middle East and tried to conquer Europe as well.

Judea was named "Palestine" by the Romans after expelling the Jews from it. The region of Palestine under British mandate included what is now Jordan, Israel and the disputed territories. The British gave about 75% of it to the Hashemites who established Jordan in it, an Arab country (with a Palestinian majority). Israel was established on part of the rest, so the proposed solution was a 3 state solution - 2 Arab states on the majority of the land and one Jewish state on a small part of it. The Arabs did not accept this solution then are not accepting it now.
